FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Is there a networked version of EQUIST - Intelligence in Steel?
Yes, networked versions for 1-5-10-25-50 and unlimited simultaneous users exist. Under the number of simultaneous users, we understand the number of licenses purchased.
-
Is EQUIST a protected software?
Yes, EQUIST is protected by USB hardware keys.
For standalone (i.e. non-networked) licenses, we grant the right to install the product on several machines. In such cases, the USB key has to be migrated between the computers to use the program. For networked versions, the software should be installed to all client computers, while the USB key runs on the server.
-
How often are new versions released and how much do they cost?
New versions of EQUIST are released approximately every two, two and a half years. Existing EQUIST customers gain membership of the so-called EQUIST Club. Club members are entitled to upgrade to the new versions at about half of the new product's list price.
-
Why is it worth it to buy EQUIST?
Regarding both its features and contents, EQUIST is a unique product that dramatically improves the speed and accuracy of selecting the right materials, thereby raising the efficiency of design, maintenance and other processes. Its customers are from all around the world, since no competing products compare to EQUIST in its functionality. For over 20 years EQUIST has been improving not only in the number of steels included, but with a new function in each release.
-
How can I get support if I have problems using the product, or cannot find a specific steel grade?
Our colleagues are at your disposal, at our telephone hotline or e-mail helpdesk, they will be happy to assist you in solving your problem. Should a designation be unavailable in EQUIST, our colleagues will try to find a solution using our library and expertise. This service is free, unless you need a written expert opinion.
-
We use special materials of a specific producer and/or country. We would like them to be included in EQUIST, is it possible?
Yes, as long as EQUIST's existing structure would support doing so. If the producer specifications of these materials are available to us, then they will be included in the following release of EQUIST. This is also a free service.
-
We only use a narrow range of steels. Is it possible to buy only a database restricted to these?
Theoretically this would be possible, but it would cost more than the entire database. This would require the development of additional software to customise the database. Buying EQUIST is a little bit like buying a multi-volume encyclopaedia: it's not possible to buy just A-C or D-F.
